OWCS Overview
Ottawa West Community Support (OWCS) was initiated in 1977 by Christian churches in the west end of Ottawa and provide practical services to all elderly persons in need. Over the years, OWCS has expanded to serve elderly persons and persons with physical disabilities in a variety of ways through support funding from donors, including the Ministry of Health, the City of Ottawa and the churches in their community.
OWCS had recently expanded their organization to include a second location which also meant an expansion of their programs and services.
BRAVO Design
OWCS engaged Bravo to help them be more visible within their communities and educate people about the programs and services that they offer. OWCS had a secondary requirement of reaching out to the community at large to find new volunteers to help out at both locations.
OWCS reaches out to their community through pop up stations in shopping malls and local community events—Bravo created banner stands for stations and designed a variety of brochures to promote the many programs and services that they offer. Banner stands and a brochure were also developed to attract new volunteers.
